OLYMPIC LOVE

July 27th, 2012

My love for the Olympics began in 1984 when I donned my Mary Lou Retton flag leotard at eight and attempted handstands in front of the television… Below is the only gymnastics move I ever actually mastered.

This year I get to share the magic with a very excited six-year-old. And this time, she gets to watch what she actually plays during the weekends.

Enjoy! :)

  1. I watched an Olympic soccer game while eating lunch today. I wish I had more time to watch it. It is exciting, though, and very inspiring to young athletes, especially girls. Male sports otherwise dominate TV coverage but Olympians are gender balanced.

  2. LOL! Yes, the hands-in-the-air, chin-up, plastic-smile move is a very tough one, but if you can master it you can do anything! Look out, Mary Lou Retton! (Though am I the only one who thinks of the movie Scrooged when I see her?)

    Hope you enjoyed the Olympics!
