Hey, Everyone!!

Today I’m excited and honored to feature the fabulous and multi-published author, Lauren Baratz Logsted. Lauren’s in the midst of a very clever blog tour – one question and one answer a day – to promote her upcoming double release (check out the blurbs below), THE EDUCATION OF BET (July, 2010) and THE SISTERS EIGHT BOOK 5: MARCIA’S MADNESS (May, 2010) . Lauren is not only an amazing storyteller, but also a kind person and one who is always willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow author. :)

Without further ado, here’s the blog tour sporty question (of course):

Did you play any sports? If so, do you have a fun sporty story to share?

I played basketball and was co-captain of my junior high team. This is instantly funny because I’m 4’11 and so was my co-captain who was also my best friend. We both had fabulous outside shots but the teams we played against all had girls 6 to 12 inches taller than us and, well, I can’t jump. I can’t run very fast either. Problem was I’d get one shot off from far out, the opposing team would realize what my game was – my only game – and that was the end of that. I think we won one game by one point that year. Still, we had a blast. Just because you’re not very good at a thing is no reason not to do it. Well, unless you’re a brain surgeon.

Love it Lauren! Thanks for sharing your sporty story. :)

education

Don’t miss Lauren’s latest Young Adult novel THE EDUCATION OF BET coming this July…

When Will and Bet were four, tragic circumstances brought them to the same house, to be raised by a wealthy gentleman as brother and sister. Now sixteen, they’ve both enjoyed a privileged upbringing thus far. But not all is well in their household. Because she’s a girl, Bet’s world is contained within the walls of their grand home, her education limited to the rudiments of reading, writing, arithmetic, and sewing. Will’s world is much larger. He is allowed—forced, in his case—to go to school. Neither is happy.

So Bet comes up with a plan and persuades Will to give it a try: They’ll switch places. She’ll go to school as Will. Will can live as he chooses. But once Bet gets to school, she soon realizes living as a boy is going to be much more difficult than she imagined.

And, if you’re looking for a an amazing tween/children’s series, check out SISTER EIGHT BOOK 5: MARCIA’S MADNESS out now..

Questions! Questions! Questions! The Sisters Eight have so many questions and so few answers! Luckily, one more month means they’ll get a few answers.

Marcia’s month is about to begin. You remember Marcia, right? The sensible one? The one who would never do anything . . . crazy?

Thanks, Lauren for stopping by!!

Happy Wednesday! :)

  1. I love hearing about short basketball players. I was similarly challenged.

The swapping lives idea in historical fiction sounds fun, but I can’t imagine a guy from that time agreeing to it.

  2. Great interview! Education of Bet looks fabulous! Contrats on all your success Lauren!
Keri, I keep forgetting to check out your super sporty blog – I think I need the google reader but I can’t find your follow button?
